The color Violet was seen by Sir Isaac Newton as a distinct color separate from Indigo and blue, however the case can easily be made to distinguish the Color Violet from Purple. UltraViolet light is invisible to the naked eye, but under spectral light, Violet is seen as a bright color tone after Indigo.
The color purple in color theory is closer to the red spectrum where Violet is closer to the blue spectrum.
All this means as light is brightened on Violet it begins to get more blue than red. Both Purple and Violet sit between their primary’s red and blue.
Violet and Purple are seen as a cosmic color, in the Bible the priests of Yaweh were told to wear the color as a symbol of divinity, in chakra color symbolism it represents the crown chakra, the seat of psychic function and the mind. In Eastern philosophy it represents the blending of the Yin force, blue or passive energy and its unification with the Yang force, Red or active energy. Bothe Violet and Purple establish trust, seen both in the humble robes of Clergymen and Kings. Its both dreamy and pragmatic.
